Ingredients

  • 150 g 5 2/7 oz Fresh Ahi Tuna

  • 30 g 1 2/3 tbsp Soy Sauce

  • 15 ml 1 tbsp Sesame Oil

  • 10 ml 2/3 tbsp Sriracha Sauce

  • 10 g 1/3 oz Green Onions

  • 50 g 1 3/4 oz Cucumber

  • 1/2 1/2 Avocado

  • 150 g 5 2/7 oz Cooked Rice

  • 1 1 small sheet Seaweed

  • 5 g 1/6 oz Sesame Seeds

  • 2 g 1/8 oz Red Chili Flakes

  • 15 ml 1 tbsp Lime Juice

  • 10 g 1/3 oz Pickled Ginger

  • 40 g 1 2/5 oz Carrot

Directions

  • Dice the fresh ahi tuna into bite-sized cubes. Place the tuna in a mixing bowl.
  • Add soy sauce, sesame oil, and sriracha sauce to the bowl with the tuna. Mix well to ensure the tuna is evenly coated. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  • While the tuna is marinating, chop the green onions, dice the cucumber, grate the carrot and cut the avocado into cubes.
  • Place the cooked rice at the bottom of a serving bowl. Arrange the marinated tuna on top of the rice.
  • Add the diced cucumber, avocado, carrot, and green onions around the tuna. Sprinkle with sesame seeds, red chili flakes, and thin seaweed strips.
  • Drizzle lime juice over the entire bowl for a fresh citrusy flavor.
  • Add pickled ginger on the side and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For an extra crunch, you can add some chopped macadamia nuts or toasted nori sheets to the bowl.

What type of rice should I use?

Traditionally, poke bowls are made with short-grain sushi rice. However, you can also use brown rice, jasmine rice, or even cauliflower rice for a low-carb option.
