Ingredients

  • 100 g 3 1/2 oz Pizza Dough

  • 1 1 Medium Pear

  • 50 g 1 3/4 oz Gorgonzola Cheese

  • 15 g 1/2 oz Walnuts

  • 1 tablespoon 1 Honey

  • 1 teaspoon 1 Olive Oil

  • 1 small handful 1 Fresh Arugula (optional)

  • Black Pepper

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Rolling pin
  • Sharp knife
  • Mixing bowl
  • Oven

Directions

  • Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F). Place a pizza stone in the oven if you have one, as it will help achieve a crispier crust.
  • Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer it to a baking sheet or onto a pizza peel if using a pizza stone.
  • Drizzle the olive oil over the dough and spread it evenly with a brush or the back of a spoon. Arrange the pear slices on the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle the crumbled gorgonzola cheese and chopped walnuts evenly over the pear slices.
  • Transfer the pizza to the oven. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese has melted and begun to bubble.
  • Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven. Drizzle the honey over the top and add a sprinkle of freshly ground black pepper. If you like, top with a handful of fresh arugula for a peppery contrast.
  • Slice the pizza and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For an extra crispy crust, bake the pizza on a preheated pizza stone. If you don’t have a pizza stone, you can preheat the baking sheet in the oven before placing the dough on it. This trick helps achieve that perfect crispy base.

Can I use a different type of cheese instead of gorgonzola?

Yes, you can substitute gorgonzola with other blue cheeses like Roquefort or Stilton for a similar flavor. If you prefer a milder taste, try using goat cheese or feta.
