  • 120 g 1 tasse Cheddar Cheese

  • 120 g 1 tasse All-Purpose Flour

  • 2 cuillères à café 2 cuillères à café Baking Powder

  • 1/2 cuillère à café 1/2 cuillère à café Sel

  • 1/4 cuillère à café 1/4 cuillère à café Poivre noir

  • 240 ml 1 tasse Milk

  • 1 1 Egg

  • 2 cuillères à soupe 2 cuillères à soupe Olive Oil or Melted Butter

Equipement

  • Waffle iron
  • Bols à mélanger
  • Fouet
  • Measuring cups (for US)
  • cuillères
  • Spatule

Directions

  • If using fresh broccoli, steam or blanch it until tender, then finely chop. If using frozen broccoli, thaw and drain well before chopping.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk the egg, milk, and olive oil (or melted butter) until well combined.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. The batter should be slightly thick but pourable.
  • Fold in the chopped broccoli and shredded cheese until evenly distributed.
  • Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Lightly grease with non-stick spray or brush with oil.
  • Pour a portion of the batter into the preheated waffle iron, spreading it out slightly to cover the surface. Close the lid and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the waffles are golden brown and crispy.
  • Carefully remove the waffles from the iron and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra crispy waffles, add an additional tablespoon of oil to the batter.

Can I use frozen broccoli instead of fresh?
