Ingredients

  • Wet Ingredients:
  • 226 g 1 cup unsalted butter

  • 200 g 1 cup brown sugar

  • 100 g 1/2 cup sugar

  • 2 2 eggs

  • 1 tablespoon 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

  • 375 g 3 cup flour

  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon salt

  • Mix-ins:
  • 340 g 2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks

Directions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  • Mix in the eggs, one at a time, until well incorporated. Then add the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined (don’t overmix).
  • Gently stir in the chocolate chips using a spatula.
  • Using a large cookie scoop or spoon, scoop out dough balls and place them on the baking sheet, leaving 2 inches apart.

  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
