Ingredients

  • 60 ml 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 30 ml 2 tbsp water

  • 15 ml 1 tbsp rice vinegar

  • 15 ml 1 tbsp sesame oil

  • 10 g 1 tbsp sugar

  • 1 1 clove garlic

  • 1 g 1/4 tsp ground ginger

  • 1 1 small green onion

  • 1 g 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

  • 1 tablepoon 1 tablepoon sesame seeds

Equipment

  • Small mixing bowl
  • Fork
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Directions

  • In a small mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, water, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and sugar. Whisk together until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  • Stir in the minced garlic, ground ginger (if using), and red pepper flakes. Mix well to ensure all the ingredients are evenly distributed.
  • Add the finely chopped green onion and stir to combine. If desired, sprinkle sesame seeds on top for added texture and flavor.
  • Pour the sauce over your prepared Meat Jun or use it as a dipping sauce on the side. It’s also great with other Korean dishes like bulgogi or bibimbap.

Notes

  • For a thicker sauce, you can reduce it slightly over low heat on the stovetop until it reaches your desired consistency. This will concentrate the flavors and make the sauce cling better to the Meat Jun.
